“Her wish took her mind off all the hardship and things she’s been through.” –
Brittany, Lennox’s mom

“I wish to have a shopping spree.”
Meet Lennox, Age 5 | Wilm’s Tumor
If each color of the rainbow had its own personality, 5-year-old Lennox would embody the essence of pink. Lennox wears her heart on her sleeve as an accessory to her radiant smile. She strikes a pose and lights up her mom, Brittany’s, world. Lennox refused to let her light dim against the darkness of the pandemic and her diagnosis of a Wilm’s Tumor. With her mom by her side and her favorite blanket in hand, she took on her battle with ferocious bravery.
Lennox deals with the chaos of being shuttled back and forth between medical appointments and checkups and the overhanging weight of something as scary as surgery that can dampen any child’s inner flame. There are very few things that they have full and complete control over. One of the joys of being a kid is being able to match a tutu with a rainboot and call it an outfit or getting to escape the world by holding the hand of her dolls.
With her shopping spree wish, Lennox was able to reignite her imagination. She hand-selected a brand-new wardrobe that she models in front of her new entourage of Barbies. After a long day of improving her reading skills with new workbooks, she can kick her feet up and relax with her at-home spa foot massaging gear. With a radiant smile that has been strengthened by her wish, she is the definition of a happy, vibrant girl.
There are children all over Georgia whose vibrancy is muted by critical illnesses. Research shows that wishes build strong foundations of emotional and physical strength to allow each child to shine. Thanks to you, Lennox’s inner strength and sense of self was reignited. Because of you, hope lives on.
