Financial advisor Chip Marcus, based in Boca Raton, Fla., has joined LPL Financial’s employee advisor channel, Linsco by LPL Financial (Linsco), the company said.
An industry veteran with more than two decades of experience as a financial advisor, Marcus was formerly with Merrill Lynch, where he and client services associate Vanessa Ambroselli managed about $230 million in client assets for high-net-worth investors and small business owners.
“I’ve always believed that high-touch service and frequent communication is key to delivering excellence for clients,” Marcus said in a prepared statement.
Marcus will operate his practice under the business name Chip Marcus Wealth Management Powered by LPL Financial. In a news release announcing his new partnership with Linsco, Marcus said he was particularly looking forward to taking advantage of the LPL’s digital and social marketing tools.
“I now have an available management team to call on for full support in navigating the firm,” he said in the news release. “With Linsco, I can build my own brand and retain ownership of clients within a business model that will allow me to manage my clients utilizing a full spectrum of products suitable to them.”
Marcus turned to Broker Dealer Change for assistance in making the move. With offices in Atlanta and in St. Petersburg, Fla., Broker Dealer Change was founded in 2011 by its president, Derrick Friedman to act as an agent for financial advisors considering a move to another broker-dealer firm.
“When talking with Chip, I immediately thought of LPL because of its ability to bridge the gap of working in a wirehouse environment and being independent,” Friedman said in the news release. “With the move, Chip now feels he’ll receive the support and commitment required to grow his business and take it to the next level.”
